Researchers are evaluating single-dose asciminib, a Bcr-Abl inhibitor, alone or with sildenafil—a phosphodiesterase inhibitor—in a Phase 1 trial for patients with recurrent or progressive resectable brain tumors undergoing surgical resection or biopsy. This early investigation at Washington University School of Medicine aims to assess whether asciminib reaches the central nervous system at therapeutic concentrations and if co-administration with sildenafil can enhance drug delivery.
