This trial evaluates the safety of adding Avasopasem—a superoxide dismutase mimetic—to CDK4/6 and hormonal (aromatase inhibitor) therapy in women with metastatic HR+ HER2– breast cancer that has progressed on standard treatment. The study, sponsored by The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, uses an investigational design to assess whether Avasopasem can enhance treatment outcomes; CDK4/6 + endocrine is the backbone, and ROS modulation may help reverse resistance without heavy added toxicity.
