Researchers at Daiichi Sankyo are assessing ifinatamab deruxtecan versus investigator’s choice chemotherapy in a randomized, open-label Phase 3 trial for patients with unresectable advanced or metastatic esophageal squamous cell carcinoma after platinum and immune checkpoint inhibitor therapies. Participants receive intravenous infusions every 21 days, while comparator agents (docetaxel, paclitaxel, or irinotecan) act via tubulin or topoisomerase I inhibition; the study aims to establish a novel ADC option in this pretreated setting.
