Stanford University is conducting a pilot diagnostic study to assess the safety of 111In-panitumumab—an EGFR-directed SPECT imaging agent—for nodal staging in patients with head and neck squamous cell carcinoma. The study also aims to compare the sensitivity and specificity of systemic injection of 111In-panitumumab prior to surgery with conventional local optical dye injection used during surgery.
