In this phase 3 trial in Japan (n=109, median follow‐up 33.6 months), EGFR Mutant NSCLC patients treated with afatinib had a higher median progression-free survival of 10.8 months compared to SoC platinum‐pemetrexed of 7.0 months, even with resistance mutations. The median overall survival in the afatinib group was 45.0 months versus 27.0 months OS in the platinum‐pemetrexed group. (OS HR 0.645, p=0.1433).
